The Disability and Neurodiversity (D&N) team is looking to appoint a part-time Administrator to work at our Stag Hill Campus. The post involves providing a full range of administrative support to the Head of Disability and Neurodiversity and D&N team.

Disability and Neurodiversity is the university's support service for students. We provide a huge range of support for students with a diverse range of disabilities, including autism, ADHD, mental health conditions, and Specific Learning Differences. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an inclusive, friendly and progressive team. The successful candidate will be provided with appropriate training to support them in fulfilling the role.

About you

Customer service and appropriate sensitivity is all-important as the post is the first point of contact for disabled students and applicants. The post holder will need to be sensitive to, and have an awareness of, issues relating to disability and must be able to deal with students' personal confidential data appropriately.

Expectations associated with the post include having an expert attention to detail, being highly organised, and the ability to support the team in the development, organisation, promotion and evaluation of various activities. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are essential, as is the ability to handle service financial transactions and appropriately record this information. The ability to keep thorough, accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with departmental processes is critical to the role.

The post holder will be expected to demonstrate autonomy and initiative in the arrangement of their immediate work priorities and an exceptional ability to respond to moving priorities in a busy service; additionally, to a level appropriate to the grade, when encountering problems in areas relating to their remit, the post-holder is expected to be able to propose suitable solutions.

Experience of working with disabled students in an educational setting is desirable.

Please note that a DBS check will be undertaken as part of our pre-employment checks for the successful candidate.
