About the Role

Working within IT, you'll be leading the Corporate Solutions engineering team. Mentoring and training the team members to create, deliver and support a quality-based approach to project tasks as required. Resulting in the delivery of high quality business solutions, including Finance, Inventory and Operational Cash Management, thereby helping SSP Customers and Colleagues to interact with SSP solutions in a fluent and consistent manner, including related integrations. To provide support of SSP Corporate Solutions to ensure efficient operational running, supportability and maintenance for the lifetime of the solutions.

What You'll Be Doing

  • To lead all technical design, development, testing, continuous improvement, maintenance and support of the corporate solutions to support strategic insight and analytical focussed decision
  • To lead a development, testing and support team of engineers to support and enhance existing solutions and to deliver new solutions.
  • To work closely with business stakeholders and product owners to scope and estimate project activities, including the solutions delivery roadmap through to development, testing and signoff of delivered solutions.
  • To utilise best practice methods in accordance with Agile & DevOps focused methodologies; recommending enhancements to existing systems and process to ensure continuous improvement across the solutions
  • To prepare and maintain clear, concise, and comprehensive design, architecture and support documentation
  • To develop and line manage the engineering team members to ensure the team is equipped to deliver the overall customer solutions and small change project outputs, have objectives and KPIs set and have regular 1:1s, half year and full year performance appraisals
  • To manage and report on the team's progress to plans and KPIs
  • To be the point of escalation for and own all customer technology requests or operational support issues. This includes future problem prevention in addition to fixing the immediate issue with the support case
  • Owning and managing deployments of new releases to the production environment

To be successful in this role, you will need to haveEssential -

  • 3 Years' Experience as a Technical Lead or Senior Engineer
  • Comprehensive knowledge of what is required at all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Proven knowledge and experience working within an SAP landscape
  • Proven knowledge and experience with MuleSoft and similar integration technologies
  • Knowledge and experience in delivering software solutions in a retail environment
  • To analyse, translate and capture functional and non-functional business requirements transforming them into system processes that can fulfil these requirements
  • Experience in data integration including web services/APIs
  • Experience with DevOps tooling, such as Azure DevOps or Jenkins
  • Experience with version control software, such as Git
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship-building skills
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, problem solving and resolution skills
  • Strong Business Analysis skills to identify and gather requirements, excellent written skills to ensure comprehensive solution documentation
  • Experience leading by example in developing and supporting end to end technical solutions.
  • Proven experience as a team lead; demonstrable experience of mentoring and coaching team members, getting the best technical delivery out of the team
  • Experience and leadership in an agile delivery environment
