Job advert text Casual Catering Assistant Itchen Valley Country Park £12.20 per hour Weekend and holiday shifts required Eastleigh Borough Council is looking for a casual Catering Assistant to join the front of house team providing a welcoming and friendly service at their Woodland Café, within the beautiful setting of Itchen Valley Country Park. You will report to the Catering Manager and Senior Catering Assistant, who will coordinate your duties, and work alongside the Chefs running the kitchen. You will be the face of the café, providing the high standards of customer service that visitors have come to expect. Responsibilities include selling hot and cold beverages, confectionery, cakes and ice creams, maintaining stock levels, accurate cash handling, and ensuring seating areas are kept clean and tidy. The team pride themselves on being welcoming and inclusive and expect a similar attitude from all staff. This Casual role is specifically for weekend availability, and there may be additional hours available during school holiday periods. Applicants should have a good general education, GCSE or equivalent in maths and English is essential. Experience of handling cash, working in a customer facing environment, food preparation or service is desirable. Level 2 food hygiene qualification is a bonus (or a willingness to gain one within the role if successful). You should be flexible due to the nature of the work offered.
