Primary Objectives
As a Digital Technical Lead, you will have the opportunity to work with multidisciplinary teams throughout the entire span of a project: from the initial concept development through to handover.
You will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of Building Information Modelling (BIM) tools, workflows, best practices, standards, and training initiatives for the EMEA region, in accordance with the digital transformation programme and objectives:
- Develop and integrate HDR BIM standards to suit regional requirements.
- Develop and implement BIM related training to achieve consistent digital engineering capabilities across the EMEA business groups.
- Report monthly on the progress and level of implementation and adoption for standards, methods, procedures and upskilling across offices.
- while aligning with the broader HDR global practice.
Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Digital Technical Lead, we'll count on you to:
- Develop and implement BIM strategies, processes, and workflows to optimize project delivery efficiency and quality within the EMEA region.
- Lead the adoption and integration of BIM tools and technologies across projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams to establish BIM execution plans and oversee their implementation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide leadership and guidance on BIM best practices, standards, and protocols, including model management, clash detection, and coordination.
- Conduct regular training sessions and workshops to upskill staff on BIM tools, methodologies, and workflows.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on BIM-related matters, providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance as needed.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to BIM, and recommend innovations to enhance project delivery.
- Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across HDR's global practice by participating in cross-functional teams and initiatives.
- Represent HDR in industry forums, conferences, and events to showcase our BIM capabilities and thought leadership.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across different disciplines and geographic locations to ensure alignment and consistency in BIM practices and standard.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Extensive, relevant experience in BIM management and implementation within the architecture, engineering, and construction industry.
- Proficiency in BIM software platforms such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360 as a minimum.
- Strong understanding of BIM standards and protocols (e.g., ISO 19650, COBie, IFC) and their application in project delivery.
- Proven track record of leading BIM initiatives and driving organizational change.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., BIM Manager Certification, Autodesk Certified Professional) are preferred.
- Experience working in a global or multi-cultural environment is a plus.
