About the CBC
The UCL Centre for Behaviour Change (CBC) promotes interdisciplinary and cross-faculty collaboration and translation of research into practice and policy. The purpose of the CBC is to increase the quality and quantity of academic activity in behaviour change at UCL, improve communication and collaboration across disciplines and support UCL in being a leading and world-renowned centre for expertise in behaviour change. The post-holder will join a small team of core staff led by Centre Director, Susan Michie, Professor of Health Psychology.
Main purpose of the role
Duties and responsibilities
The role is part-time (18.25 hours per week) and is based at the Centre's offices in 1-19 Torrington Place.
The post-holder will be responsible for supporting and administering the work of the CBC Director and Co- Director:
- Provide support for diary organisation, expense claims, meeting and travel arrangements, IT requirements of the Director and Co-Director.
- Provide personal research administration such as formatting journal articles, updating CVs , assisting in preparing grants applications.
- Provide personal dissemination administration such as updating profiles/records on IRIS, RPS, Research Gate and social media such as Linked In and X.
- Support the management of the Director's and Co-Director's correspondence.
- Support the arrangement and running of meetings, including the Centre's Board meeting, for example finding suitable dates, setting up agendas, sending invitations and attending to take notes.
Other Centre-wide duties may include:
- Provide cover for administrative tasks (such as booking training events, making website updates, sending Tweets) in the team as needed
- Participate in meetings as required eg team meetings, seminars etc
- The post holder will maintain an awareness and observation of Fire and Health & Safety Regulations
- Any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post
About the role holder
The candidate should have a strong organisational background with an understanding of higher education administration and financial systems. They must have excellent communication, organisation and time-management skills and demonstrate a strong team-work ethic. This role requires that the post holder works on their own initiative and has the ability to manage several tasks at once and engage effectively with external organisations and colleagues. Previous experience in a similar environment would be advantageous.
