Job Responsibility:
We are seeking a motivated and committed Consultant Level Geochemist to join our expanding Geochemistry team in the UK Practice. This opportunity will involve working on a diverse range of exciting projects with multi-disciplinary teams both in the UK and overseas.
The primary role is to act as a Geochemist, providing competent consulting services to support SRK projects and clients as follows:
- Providing geochemistry services to ensure successful delivery of projects.
- Assisting with the geochemical aspects of multi-disciplinary project development studies.
- Representing SRK professionally to SRK's clients.
- Analysis of geochemical data including sample selection, data processing and interpretation, data QAQC
- Field work for the purpose of field observations of geological and geochemical conditions, drillcore review, geochemical sample collection and water monitoring
- Laboratory liaison and scheduling of geochemical samples for testing
- Use of qualitative and quantitative geochemical risk assessment techniques
- Geochemical input to project development studies, environmental assessments and mine operational support.
- Proposal preparation and report writing
- Working as part of multi-disciplinary SRK teams
- Client liaison and assisting with project management
- Representing SRK professionally, to SRK`s clients and interfacing at all levels with the client`s management and operations (and those of their other consultants).
Requirements:
- A degree or equivalent in Geochemistry or Chemical Engineering, possibly with a higher degree (MSc or equivalent) in Geochemistry, Applied or Environmental Geology, Chemical or Water Engineering other relevant degree subjects
- Right to work in the UK
Additional consideration may be given to those who can demonstrate:
- Experience of undertaking environmental or geochemical monitoring and/or characterisation studies.
- Experience in the analysis of geochemical datasets, including quality control, data interpretation and reporting.
- Innovative and clear thinking, ability to work with complex problems and present ideas and data to colleagues and clients to find specific bespoke solutions.
- Excellent attention to detail and critical analysis skills.
- Excellent report writing skills requiring strong English language skills (verbal and written). A second language would be an advantage but is not essential
- Ability to be proactive and work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to establish and maintain client relationships
