Job Responsibility:
Kingsworthy Early Years is an established and privately owned nursery group with a great reputation. Due to expansion, we are now looking for experienced qualified Bank Early Years Practitioners to join our friendly and professional team.
Applicants will need some experience of working with children aged 0-5 and will have some knowledge of the EYFS, the Statutory Framework and other relevant legislation.
Main Duties
- Provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all children in the nursery
- Give support to other team members throughout the nursery
- Work as part of a team in order to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, learn and develop
- Applicants must have experience with children 0-5years.
- Operate a programme of activities that meet the individual needs and interests of children in your area following the Early Years Foundation Stage and Development Matters
- Support all staff and engage in a good staff team
- Liaise with and support parents and other family members
- To be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, parent evening, fundraising events etc.
- Be flexible, the position requires the staff member to work when required anytime between the hours of 9am to 4 pm Monday to Friday and flexibility is required between these times.
Qualifications
Essential
- Experience with children ages 0-5years.
- GCSE Grade A-C Maths and English
- A satisfactory enhanced DBS check which confirms suitability to work with children.
- Relevant safeguarding and paediatric first aid qualifications
Desirable
- Level 3 or above qualification
- Relevant food hygiene and health & safety qualifications (however we can organise this training)
Experience and Attributes
Essential
- Sound understanding of child development and of children's needs
- Ability to plan and implement the EYFS curriculum
- Effective spoken and written language and communication skills
- A positive approach to behaviour management
- Ability to work with parents and to encourage their involvement
- Honest and reliable with proven time management skills
- Commitment to team working and professional development
- Demonstrates stability and commitment in previous roles
- Achievement orientated with an ability to use own initiative
Desirable:
- Wider Childcare experience
- SEN experience
