As ‘Meetings & Events Agent' you'll be on the front line, delivering on our mission!

What you'll be doing

You'll be delivering attentive customer focused service, understand brand standards and enjoy working as part of a successful team.

  • Maximise enquiry conversion through excellent call handling techniques, thorough product knowledge and superior customer service.
  • Carry out Company processes and procedures to ensure that business on the books is robust and accurate at all times.
  • Ensure all systems are operated to the required standard as laid down by Valor and the brand in order to ensure effective management of the rooms business.
  • Follow pricing and selling strategies for all market segments in order to achieve departmental financial budgets and targets, and drive performance against the competitors.
  • Assist in keeping competitor information up to date and visiting competitor hotels as required.
  • Carry out appointments and showrounds of the hotel as required.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of superior customer service through the Customer Service Programme, Venue Verdict and BDRC, where applicable.
  • Assist with maintaining a team environment which promotes good employee morale and ensures a high level of commitment and pride in the hotel.
  • Be commercially aware and consider Total Revenue and “lifetime value” when assessing new business enquiries, using demand calendars, displacement tools and market data to assist in decision making.
  • Comply with statutory and company requirements relating to cash handling, credit procedures, employment legislation, Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Risk Assessment and Disability.
  • Undertake any other reasonable project or request from your General Manager to grow and improve the business
