Job Responsibility:

The Cambridge Clinical Trials Unit (CCTU) is a rapidly growing academic unit within the University of Cambridge.

The unit is seeking to recruit an experienced clinical trials statistician to work within our multidisciplinary team and provide strong statistical support for the programme of trials.

The postholder will have excellent programming skills in a statistical package (R, Stata, SAS), Familiarity with other appropriate packages e.g. GraphPad, SPSS, MLWin, nQuery, PASS, XML and a working knowledge of the principles of clinical trials, understanding of the principles of clinical trial design, monitoring and analysis. The candidate should ideally have a Masters Degree in Medical Statistics or a closely related area.

As a UK Clinical Research Collaboration registered Clinical Trials Unit, the unit receives NIHR CTU support funding. Core funding also comes from the University, and the Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The current programme of trials includes national and international multicentre trials on a range of health topics, such as oncology, cardiology, renal disease, diabetes. New areas of work being developed include early phase adaptive trial design, imaging analysis and general methodological research as issues arise within trials. Project funding is largely through various NIHR boards (such as HTA, EME, Programmes for Applied Health Research, and Research for Patient Benefit).

The unit is located within the Cambridge Biomedical Research Campus.
