BCT has more than 500 young people per
year enrolled onto our various creative
courses. This includes our study programme,
based at our Uplands House and Digital
Futures campuses, as well as our
apprentices, trainees and adult learners, who
are based at Creative Works.
With a maximum of 15 spaces, Big
Creative Independent School is BCT's
Alternate Provision school for 14-16-year-
olds (some of whom have previously had
negative experiences with formal
education). BCIS offers Maths, English
and Science, and re-engages learners
with Music and Media. Creative Works is a flexible creative
workspace, based next to Blackhorse Road
station, for small and medium enterprises.
CW provides training rooms, work
opportunities and event spaces for local
businesses and learners alike.
We work with over 100 creative sector
employers and campuses are fitted with
industry-standard studios and professional
equipment. We also support learners to re-
take Maths and English, if needed.

Admissions & Engagement Officer
Vacancy
Desirable Qualities / Skills:
― Worked in a college environment or with young people before
― Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for travelling to work related events
Key Tasks:
― Help to plan and deliver BCE Open Events (including workshops, tours, open interview evenings and
presentations) to ensure prospective learners receive a high-quality experience
― To interview applicants ad-hoc when course tutors are unavailable
― To support Recruitment Manager and team in getting offer letter out with service level agreement
― Having an active involvement in proactively generating new leads to maximise applications of
learners to meet monthly BCE targets
― Develop and implement recruitment strategies to meet enrolment targets
― Work with the Recruitment Manager to develop new keep warm strategies
― Work with the Recruitment and Outreach Manager to deliver a calendar of internal and external BCE
events involving risk assessment and promotional/communication activities
― Work closely and interact with Lead Tutors ensuring knowledge and information of the BCE provision
and Salesforce is accurate and up to date
― To cover team members in their absence and contribute to all aspects of the Admissions and
Engagement team
― To Liaise with applicants and their nominated advisers or family, to guide them through the
application process, ensuring that they have all the information they require regarding the process,
course, and the college.
Essential Qualities / Skills:
― Previous experience in an administrative role, admissions, or similar role
― Ability to work as part of a team and independently
― Excellent written and oral communication skills
― Well-developed organizational skills and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise
and manage workload
― Ability to empathise and develop rapport with individuals applying to the College
― Strong diplomatic influencing and relationship-building skills to collaborate with others and convert
initial inquiries into successful enrolments. High attention to detail and accuracy
― Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Essential Qualifications:
― Maths and English GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent (Level 2)
― Degree/relevant qualification in the subject area

Admissions & Engagement Officer
Vacancy
Responsibilities:
1. To be responsible for manning the admissions inbox making sure that enquiries are responded to
within the service level agreement. Respond to applicant enquiries by phone and post - providing
comprehensive information and advice on all courses available at BCE and signposting learners
for specialist advice where appropriate.
2. Provide information, advice and guidance to learners and prospective learners through individual
or group sessions, workshops, presentations within BCE and alongside external agencies.
3. To help maximize attendance at open interview evenings by calling applicants listed in the CRM
database Salesforce, explaining the event details, and encouraging them to attend.
4. To process and manage course applications and interview appointments via Salesforce and in
compliance with GDPR. Respond to applications within the service level agreement. Ensure all
applicants declaring a learning difficulty or disability are referred to Student Services prior to
enrolment. To ensure that applicants who disclose a learning difficulty during the interview are
directed to the appropriate SEN department, and to maintain clear records of attendees from open
evenings.
5. Represent and promote the BCE provision through attending internal and external events to
maximize learner applications and interviews by engagement with local schools, colleges, youth
organisations and external agencies. This will include occasional evening and weekend work.
6. To proactively develop and maintain strong relationships whilst engaging with key personnel in
local and surrounding schools and Borough organisations.
Purpose:
1. To have an active involvement in enrolment procedures, which may require additional hours
including evenings and weekends.
2. Maintain an efficient office administration process including general filing, stationary monitoring,
post and answering general queries.
3. Comply with BCE policies and procedures, including Equal Opportunities, Safeguarding and
Health and Safety.
4. Participate in the annual BCE appraisal scheme and carry out targets as and when agreed with
Line Manager.
