Priory Adult Care is the UK's leading independent provider of specialist adult care services. Our aim is to provide the right support in the right home for all the individuals we accommodate. With community-based residential care settings, as well as a network of supported living services, we support adults over the age of 18 with autism, dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and behaviours that challenge. We also offer a range of residential and nursing care settings for older people with varying levels of need. Aire House is an 8 bedded residential service in the heart of Harrogate. Aire House provides assessment and support for adults living with a primary learning disability diagnosis but may present complex conditions. Some of the people we support also have communication difficulties as well as a range of other disabilities such as autism or epilepsy. Our service offers 24/7 specialist residential care which is designed to provide just the right level of support; we encourage individuals to develop the skills that they need to live as independently as possible. We offer 1:1 staffing where required and have installed a nurse-call system in each room. Are you passionate about PBS? The post holder will use their expertise to support predominantly in the following areas: Staff training & development Functional Behaviour Assessment Behaviour Support Planning (BSP) BSP implementation (including practice workshops) Incident analysis & debrief Meetings and supervision Transitions Liaising with MDT
The ideal candidate will: (Essential) Hold BSc in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities/ Applied Behaviour Analysis/ Psychology/Nursing/Occupational Therapy
Hold, or be working towards a formal qualification in: or Positive Behaviour Support i.e. PBS BTEC (advanced professional Diploma) A full drivers' licence.
Desirable Criteria: Board associate Certified Behaviour Analyst status and/or MSc in Analysis and Intervention in Learning Disability is desirable, NOT essential Be willing and able to work towards instructor level in PROACT SCIPr-UK
In addition, the candidate will be able to demonstrate: A history of direct support experience with people with learning disabilities and/or ASC and Challenging Behaviour A history in conducting assessment and developing, implementing and evaluating interventions for individuals presenting with Challenging Behaviours A history of development and delivery of Positive Behaviour Support training A history of working as part of a peripatetic team providing consultation to 'challenging behaviour' services (Remote only) A history of reducing the use of restrictive practices
