Job Responsibility:
The Opportunity: Avantor is looking for a detail-oriented Technical Customer Service Specialist to manage the quotations within the Technical department, assist in checking pricing & sourcing products within challenging response times. Answer routine questions and solve issues from internal & external customers & suppliers. This role will be a hybrid role, based out of our Lutterworth, UK site, 2 days a week. The ideal candidate will have strong scientific background, outstanding communication skills, high attention to detail and organisation skills. The successful Technical Customer Service Specialist will work closely with the sales team. The team The Technical Customer Service Specialist will be part of a wider Team of 8. What we're looking for
- Experience: At least 1-3 years experience in a scientific customer service / sales / technical quotations role.
- Knowledge of lab equipment.
- Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in science related field a plus,
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organisational and team working skills.
- Ability to work and collaborate with senior leadership across a variety of functions.
- Collaboration tool: Good IT skills (MS Office including Excel, CRM & SAP would be beneficial).
How you will thrive and create an impact
- Producing technically specific quotations for capital equipment including servicing and whole life costing information if required.
- Qualifying calls on a technical and commercial level from customers who phone in for a quotation and general enquiries.
- Provide Technical knowledge and support for Customers, Capital Equipment Specialists and Account Managers.
- Investigate any queries on quotations, equipment leads time and delivery specifications.
- Implement project work and business reports in a timely manner when required.
- Establish relationships with suppliers to ensure support for business growth.
- To work with the field-based teams to help drive sales activity and business growth for capital equipment.
- Attend customer visits with Capital Equipment Specialist & Sales conferences when required.
- Support health and safety in the workplace.
- Ensure all business is transacted within the parameters of the Avantor policy and procedures
