About the Role:

As the Assistant Director, Student Recruitment, you will play a pivotal role in maximising the recruitment of international students to INTO Newcastle University by leading the creation and delivery of an innovative student recruitment strategy across key global markets.

This involves driving and supporting the student recruitment activities of INTO's in-country sales teams and conducting ongoing market research and analysis to ensure that our Centre has a competitive proposition that is effectively communicated.

Additionally, you will act as an impassioned advocate for INTO Newcastle University and Newcastle University, building and managing complex stakeholder relationships globally with recruitment, marketing, admissions, and partnerships colleagues at both organisations. This role requires identifying opportunities for collaboration and mutual support to enhance the overall effectiveness of our recruitment efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Recruitment:

  • Develop and implement an annual data-driven student recruitment strategy to exceed targets.
  • Collaborate with global and UK colleagues on market-led recruitment initiatives.
  • Lead key university partner recruitment and marketing projects, ensuring alignment with broader strategies.
  • Provide top-notch support to in-country sales teams, ensuring they have the tools to promote the Centre effectively.
  • Conduct regular competitor analysis and provide strategic input on pricing, entry requirements, and positioning.
  • Report on student recruitment performance to senior leadership.
  • Undertake international travel for events and support a calendar of recruitment and relationship-building activities.
  • Lead inbound familiarisation trips and visits from prospective students and agents.
  • Manage complex stakeholder relationships within the Centre, Newcastle University, and across INTO teams globally.
  • Represent INTO Newcastle University in central recruitment forums and projects.

Marketing:

  • Ensure brand positioning and marketing messaging are impactful in key markets.
  • Drive strategic marketing campaigns with INTO's central marketing team.
  • Contribute to the Centre marketing toolkit (brochures, flyers, banners).
  • Oversee the creation of student voice marketing content and social media strategy.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams at INTO and Newcastle University to build strong relationships.

Management:

  • Line manage a small team supporting student recruitment and marketing activities.
  • Oversee the student ambassador resource.
  • Manage a large student recruitment and marketing budget, ensuring accountability for ROI.
  • Participate as a key member of the Centre's Senior Management Team, leading and supporting cross-centre initiatives.

Location:

Based at INTO Newcastle University with opportunities for national and international travel.
