The Role:
As we continue to grow and transform DC Thomson Commercial, creating career development opportunities is a key priority for us.
An exciting opportunity exists within our Commercial Partnerships team, working at a high level in the B2B market selling across our extensive business portfolio including Energy Voice and Events.
Seen as a B2B media expert within our business both internally and externally, managing and developing key accounts across our business to business community. The key objective being to maintain, grow and source new revenue.
This is a full-time hybrid flexible role offering a blend of home and office working from one of our office locations in Aberdeen or Inverness
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading day-to-day contact for commercial partnerships and supporting larger, strategic partnerships
- Managing a portfolio of key partnerships from a variety of sectors, delivering partnership development through both financial and shared purpose opportunities to increase revenue.
- Maximising current activity, exploring new revenue streams and exploring strategic support that partnerships could provide to the company
- Supporting by taking a lead on key projects within partnership portfolio
- Achieving agreed revenue targets to deliver budget and contingencies to meet any shortfalls
- Providing high quality account management to existing clients, delivering on partnership targets
- Identifying and working on strategic partnerships and a programme of engagement opportunities to cultivate these opportunities
- Identifying opportunities to maximise revenue
- Identifying partnership opportunities through research and prospecting, making new business applications and approaches, working on and delivering pitches
- Securing pipeline with prospects, approaches, pitches and partnerships - all recorded, tracked and reviewed.
- Ensuring that all activities conform to best practice and legal requirements and company policy and procedures
- Representing the Company at meetings, events and presentations outside normal office hours (evenings and weekends), as required
- Provide accurate sales and financial reporting
- To maximise the use of CMS system to track opportunities, revenue pipeline & accurate client reporting
- Work closely with wider team, to share ideas, insights and improve ways of working, with the aim of ensuring all business opportunities are delivered.
Skills and experience you will bring to the role:
- Proven track record in b2b sales
- Exceptional relationship management skills with the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate and influence a
- Strong organisational, project and time management skills with the ability to use own initiative, prioritise and demonstrate a problem solving approach
- Ability to think creatively and support team members to develop plans and proposals to meet
- partners' needs
- Ability to maintain a calm, thoughtful and clearheaded demeanour at all times, even in times of great pressure
- Demonstrable ability to work collaboratively across departmental boundaries to achieve shared organisational goals, to influence and engage colleagues to help you reach partnership objectives, and to think about the ‘bigger picture'
- Commercial acumen demonstrated in the delivery of high-value CRM agreements
- Established network of industry contacts
- Full UK Driving License essential
- Flexibility - as the nature of events means there will be some evening and weekend working

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 35 hours per week from our Aberdeen or Inverness Office. The role presents the opportunity for hybrid working that must include regular office attendance.
