Child Care Assistant Practitioner - Lenzie Peace of Mind for Parents Service

Childcare Assistants are responsible for the health and wellbeing of the children in their care from the moment they collect them from school. You need to be empathic, caring, adaptable and flexible to meet the varying needs of children who attend the care service each day. A knowledge of the role of a Social Service worker and an understanding of the Quality Day Care Standards for childcare services is essential for anyone applying to work in this sector. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and self-motivated with good communication skills. A willingness to learn and apply new skills, work as part as a team as well as with groups pf children and other adults is essential. A personal commitment to continuous personal development and SVQ training is essential.

Position subject to Enhanced PVG Scheme & SSSC Record checks.

Contract Type: Full Year permanent or Term Time only contract negotiable.

Contracted Hours: 16hrs per week. Monday to Friday / 5 days per week (1, 2 or 3 days p/w shifts also available)

Hourly Rate: £11.44-£12.62 (rate dependant on qualification held + experience)

Qualification Criteria: Preferred SVQ in Social Services Children & Young People (or SCQF level7) Will accept applicants with SCQF level 6 or those willing to train.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £11.44-£12.62 per hour
