Location: Mansfield
Contract: Full Time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 15:30
Start Date: September (New academic year)
Salary:£18,000 - £21,000 pro rata

Classroom Recruiters is excited to offer an opportunity for a dedicated SEN Classroom Assistant to join our team in Mansfield. Starting immediately, this role involves working 1:1 with a child with high-functioning Autism, fostering a strong, supportive relationship. You'll work in a small class setting alongside an outstanding teacher who tailors the learning environment to each student's needs. The school's excellent facilities create an inclusive atmosphere, allowing you to adapt effectively to the child's requirements. This full-time position may extend until September, in an Ofsted-rated "Good" community school that prioritizes the well-being of both children and staff.

The most important quality is a commitment to supporting children with special needs. Familiarity with SEN strategies and interventions is advantageous.
Responsibilities:
As an SEN Classroom Assistant, you will provide individualized support to a child with special needs, focusing on building a trusting and supportive relationship. You will work closely with other teachers to maintain an updated care plan and adapt classroom activities to meet the child's needs. Developing strong connections with students, families, and colleagues will be essential, fostering a supportive and inclusive community. Your role will also leverage your specialized experience working with children aged 4-11 years old who have Autism, Social Communication Difficulties, Complex Needs, and associated behaviors.
Qualifications:
- Various Qualifications Accepted: While we prefer candidates with Level 2 or above teaching assistant qualifications or equivalent, we welcome applicants with a range of qualifications.
- Accessible Learning: Ability to make learning accessible to students with varying levels of ability, including basic computer skills, internet safety, and educational software applications.
Training and Induction:
You will receive a full weeks worth of induction before starting the role, you will complete office based learning with HR and Senior Leadership, as well as 2 full days of shadowing in your local area accompanying a Senior Member of Staff.
Progress:
After 6 months of being in the role, you are offered to complete a Level 3 Teaching Assistant course. The company pay for it and it is a great opportunity to gain a qualification that will advance your career as a teaching assistant. After completing the qualification you will also receive the higher band of pay as a newly Higher Level Teaching Assistant!
