Permanent, Part time, 22.2 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday).

The Commissioning Team has embarked on an ambitious and challenging journey to transform how we commission world class, value for money services for Children and Young People in Rotherham. As a Placements Broker within the Commissioning Team, you will play a key role in securing high quality, appropriate residential and fostering placements for looked after children and also semi-independent placements for young people leaving care.

About the challenge
Our vision is for the children and families of Rotherham to routinely experience and describe the services they receive from us, as outstanding. And we intend to do that by putting the child first in everything we do.
The Placements Broker roles will be key to delivering high quality and appropriate fostering or residential placements for children, in a fast paced and demanding environment. Supported by Commissioning Officers and Managers, when necessary, you will carry out placement searches utilising the team's provider frameworks and knowledge of the market, which you will help develop and improve to secure the best outcomes for children and young people in our care. You will be an excellent communicator, building strong, professional relationships with providers and working effectively with Social Care workers and managers.

The Commissioning Team ensures that Placements are covered until 5:30pm each day and team members are expected to be flexible to ensure any emergency needs are met. This post is covered under Hybrid working.

Until 31st March 2026 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a monthly deduction from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded three additional days leave (pro rata for part-time).
