Young Person Resilience Workers play an integral role within Change Grow Live, engaging young people in a range of interventions, using a young person-centred approach, and empowering our young service users to reduce risk, increase resilience and lead a safe, happy, and healthy lives. You'll have to record information about what you do, so enjoying a bit of paperwork and attention to detail is important. But most of the time you'll be enjoying working with people from all backgrounds, making a difference to their lives. No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key.
Where: Kirklees
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £27,449.53 - £31,529.41 CGL Pro rata (dependent on experience).
Responsibilities:
About the Role: Join our dedicated team in a rewarding position where you'll play a crucial role in supporting young individuals throughout their substance misuse treatment and recovery journey. As a Youth Substance Misuse Resilience Worker, you will:
- Guide service users from initial contact through treatment and recovery
- Conduct screenings, assessments, and deliver psychosocial interventions
- Develop integrated care plans and provide post-treatment support, ensuring a smooth transfer of care
- Identify and respond effectively to potential safeguarding issues
- Contribute to the reduction of drug and alcohol-related harm to service users and the wider community
- Actively promote involvement from carers, service users, and the community
- Advocate for access to partnership services
- Work collaboratively with service users to achieve positive, holistic outcomes for their health and well-being, fostering safe, healthy, and purposeful lives
About You: We are seeking an individual with:
- Experience working with young people and a deep understanding of the challenges they face
- Knowledge of safeguarding concerns related to children and young people, including familiarity with the Gillick competency and Fraser guidelines
- Excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues with proven experience in a related field
- Familiarity with evidence-based practices in young people's substance misuse treatment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, coupled with a high level of IT competency
- Accuracy in updating and maintaining records, adhering to deadlines for information submission
- Exceptional teamwork and interpersonal skills, with a cooperative approach to supporting colleagues in achieving service objectives
