Adaptations Assistant
Job description
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our busy but friendly Adaptations/Technical Housing Team. The role will involve you dealing with customer enquiries and assisting with the administration and processing of Disabled Facilities Grants, adaptations to the Council’s Housing stock, together with other private sector housing initiatives.
There will be a requirement for a strong focus on customer care, with frequent interaction with vulnerable people. Therefore, it is essential that you have both effective verbal and written communication skills. You will also require numerical competences and have a vehicle available for business use, for which an allowance will be paid.
As a minimum, you should possess 4 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English and have 2 years’ experience working in a busy office environment. You must be IT literate and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel and computerised document management systems. It also essential that you are able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
