Vacancy - Control Room Operative Are you seeking a role in which you can play a pivotal role in the delivery and fulfilment of Container Operations? Are you excited by the opportunity to work with cutting edge technology in a fast paced, operational environment? Due to an exciting, new service we are seeking Control Room Operatives to join our Containers division at the Port of Liverpool and help us keep the world moving!
Your role In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient control of Terminal 2 operations, both shipside and landside, playing a pivotal role in the delivery and fulfilment of Container Operations. You will provide dynamic, remote operation of cutting edge technology with in a purpose built £400m Container Terminal. Promoting a successful Health & Safety culture, you will strive towards the company's zero accident ambition. You will enable efficient passage through the facility for the haulage community, maintaining optimal landside and shipside performance by providing safe and accurate loading/discharging of containers to/from vessels. Communicating effectively, you will ensure all important information is relayed to relevant parties via telephone, radio and email.
What you'll bring You will be capable of working effectively under pressure in a fast paced, operational environment. An excellent communicator (written and verbal) you will be able to relay information in a clear manner, ensuring all parties are kept informed. You will have strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office. You will be qualified to a minimum GCSE level (or equivalent), including Maths and English. Previous experience working within the Ports industry, hatch clerk knowledge, or controller experience would be advantageous.
