Job Responsibility:

Location: London (Farringdon) - Hybrid working (2 days per week in the office)

Salary: £27,352 per annum (London Living Wage)

Reporting to: Talent Acquisition Manager

Working pattern: 4 working days + 1 training day (total 40 hours per week)

Training course: Level 3 Business Administrator

Team: People Team, Business Services

We have an exciting new opportunity for an apprentice to join our People Team. This is the perfect opportunity for entry-level candidates who are looking to gain valuable work experience and on-the-job training in Talent Acquisition, whilst also obtaining a recognised business administrator qualification.

About the role

The Apprentice will join our People Team, supporting the Talent Acquisition Manager on recruitment activities and HR projects.

You will be a key member of the team, helping us to champion our culture and employee experience. You should have a passion for developing and implementing initiatives to improve the working environment and our employer brand.

You will be enrolled onto the Business Administrator apprenticeship course shortly after your start date. The apprenticeship takes approximately 15 months to complete and during this time you'll achieve the skills, knowledge and behaviours necessary to develop a career within a number of different functions, including Talent Acquisition.

You will receive training and development over the course of your apprenticeship, and whilst you will be fully supported to undertake and complete your studies, this programme does require personal commitment to study in your own time, in addition to your offsite training day.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support on the end-to-end recruitment process - from sourcing and screening candidates to coordinating interviews and assisting with job offers.
  • Attraction: Utilise various channels, such as job boards, social media, and professional networks, to identify and attract qualified candidates for open positions.
  • Screening: Review CVs and applications, conduct phone screenings, and assess candidate qualifications.
  • Interview Coordination: Schedule and coordinate interviews with hiring managers, ensuring a smooth and efficient process for interviewers and candidates.
  • Employer Branding: Support on the development and implementation of employer branding initiatives to enable IMPOWER to continue to attract top talent.
  • Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in the ATS, ensuring adherence to GDPR.
  • Onboarding Support: Supporting on the onboarding process to enable a smooth transition from candidate to new starter.
  • Recruitment Analytics: Assist in tracking and analysing recruitment metrics to measure the effectiveness of talent acquisition strategies and identify areas for improvement.
  • HR Projects: Supporting on delivery projects in various areas of HR, including Diversity Equity and Inclusion, Employer Branding and GDPR.

Skills you will develop:

  • IT skills, including confidence with MS Office or equivalent packages.
  • Ability to produce and maintain records and documents, in compliance with GDPR and organisation's procedures.
  • Communication skills - face-to-face, on the telephone and on digital platforms.
  • Decision making skills.
  • Process improvement and problem-solving skills.
  • Organisational, planning and project management capabilities.
  • Stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Understanding of laws and regulations such as GDPR.
  • Professionalism, integrity and autonomy.

About you

  • Maths and English GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent
  • Interested in Talent Acquisition and/or Human Resources
  • Highly motivated, with great integrity
  • Understanding and awareness of confidentiality
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Organised, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Creative and problem-solving skills
