Ideal Candidate

• Work until late on a rota basis as store closes at 11PM Mon to Sunday.
• Being able to work during the weekends, holidays periods (excluding Christmas Day), evenings and nights as the store will get busy during these times.
• Be flexible with hours and dates (punctual and reliable)
• Have previous experience in a Cafe/Restaurant environment (all store assistant receive full training and support, so this is not essential but desired)
• All about customer service and up-selling
• Hardworking and positive, even when working under pressure

As a Store Assistant specialising in desserts at Pankiki, you'll be at the forefront of our customer experience, leading shifts and ensuring seamless cash handling. Your role encompasses providing outstanding customer service, mastering dessert crafting, and maintaining the excellence of our signature Japanese pancakes. This position is perfect for individuals passionate about food and adept at customer interaction.

Responsibilities

Shift Management and Cash Handling:

Run shifts effectively, overseeing operations and managing cash transactions with precision.

Ensure adherence to cash handling protocols and maintain accurate records.

Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.

Customer Service:

Welcome and assist customers warmly, fostering a positive atmosphere in the store.

Offer detailed menu guidance to help customers make informed decisions.

Address customer inquiries, concerns, and special requests promptly and courteously.

Dessert Preparation:

Master the art of dessert preparation, focusing on Japanese pancakes, waffles, and crepes.

Follow recipes meticulously to uphold the consistent quality of our desserts.

Maintain impeccable hygiene and safety standards during food preparation and handling.

Japanese Pancake Expertise:

Specialise in the unique cooking and maintenance requirements of our Japanese pancakes.

Ensure pancakes are cooked to perfection, maintaining their desired texture and flavor.

Participate in ongoing training sessions to stay updated on cooking process refinements.

Fast Learning and Adaptability:

Quickly grasp new techniques and procedures related to dessert preparation.

Adapt to changes in the menu or procedures to meet evolving customer preferences.

Training and Development:

Participate in training programs provided by Pankiki to meet company standards.

Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and improve overall performance.

Order Time Management:

Efficiently manage order times to ensure prompt dessert preparation and service.

Prioritise orders based on customer preferences, maintaining a smooth workflow during peak hours.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety for Catering (Preferred)
• Previous experience in a customer-facing role, ideally in the food industry.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for desserts and a willingness to learn new culinary techniques.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing roles and responsibilities.
