The Team The Open Banking team leads on the policy to design the long-term regulatory framework for open banking in the UK. The work touches the lives of everyone in the UK, making sure that access to data and payments is fast, efficient, dependable, and safe. We want to build on the initial success of UK open banking to help unlock and realise further benefits for consumers, businesses, and the wider economy. Open banking should continue to support innovation and greater competition for consumers and businesses. Our team is shaping the future regulatory framework that will emerge from this work. It would therefore be advantageous for candidates to have an awareness of regulatory developments in the financial or technological landscapes. What you will be doing
  • Helping to plan and coordinate open banking policy and strategy projects working with policymakers, supervisors, competition specialists, and others to deliver consistent outcomes and outputs in a timely fashion
  • Providing the secretariat function for relevant board meetings
  • Working across the FCA, with colleagues in legal, competition, economics, regulatory and strategy functions, to ensure that workstreams remain on schedule, by mapping progress against timelines and producing insight reports
  • Helping to spearhead engagement with external stakeholders, influencing and communicating with Government, Trade Associations, other regulators, consumer organisations and financial services firms

  • Proven experience of providing project management and support to teams delivering complex projects within a large organisation
  • Experience of reviewing, drafting, collating, and analysing documents
  • Experience using Microsoft Office packages - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One Note and Outlook
Essential

  • Ability to work as part of a team, being inclusive in your approach and connecting with relevant stakeholders
  • Demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure
  • Able to prioritise a complex workload with conflicting demands and so demonstrating strong organisation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of how separate workstreams might fit into the desired outcome of the project, identifying where different pieces of work link and complement each other
  • Judgement in deducing when to raise/escalate risks/issues
