Job Responsibility:

The UK Business Development & Marketing Director is responsible for the Marketing department in the UK and reports directly to the UK Market Leader. There is a team of 6 FTE supporting this role. This role will support and work closely with colleagues on the UK Management Team who also report directly, or via dotted line, to the UK Market Leader.

The OCS/Vending & Coffee to Go channels are seen as critical growth sectors for Lavazza Group Globally. The purpose of this role is to activate and grow the Lavazza brand across the OCS, Vending and Coffee to Go Channel in the UK. The UK Business Development & Marketing Director will be responsible for developing the overall business and marketing strategy for the UK Lavazza professional team, in collaboration with the UK Market leader and Sales organisation and aligning all recommendations with the HQ brand and portfolio team. The aim is to increase market penetration/share, by building trust and loyalty with B2B prospects and customers, becoming the one-stop-shop for all OCS / Vending needs in the UK Workplace and further grow Lavazza's coffee penetration. Part of this role is to also further develop the Lavazza on the Move proposition to land the Coffee to Go proposition in the UK, targeting petrol stations and convenience stores.

There are 3 main challenges for the UK Business Development & Marketing Director in defining the business and marketing strategy and leading its execution in the coming years.

1. Designing a new go-to-market plan for the premium Lavazza brands in the Vending, OCS, and Coffee to Go channels. Key focus areas will be:

a) Protecting the traditional heartland business of Klix and Flavia and maximizing the drink sales by leveraging Lavazza brands

b) Growing the share of Lavazza drinks in our existing ranges and driving growth of Bean to Cup machine portfolio & systems (in the Direct Channel) and Lavazza Bean sales (in the Indirect Channel via Distributors)

c) Evolving and building Lavazza Professional's position in this market as a trusted service provider, driving

awareness and penetration of our Fully Managed Service and new Micro Markets propositions

d) Supporting the project to establish a new business proposition in Lavazza on the Move to penetrate the Coffee to Go sector in the UK

2. Innovation - ensuring the successful launch of new products and services. Innovation is a key pillar for Lavazza's history and continued success. There are a variety of new products launching, as well as a rebranding of existing products. The UK Business Development & Marketing Director and their team will be responsible to implement these launches and ensure operationally they are successfully delivered verses the business plan.

3. Build a strong digital agenda in the overall marketing strategy. The UK Business Development & Marketing Director needs to maximize a digital strategy that can add demonstrable value to the Lavazza Professional business, driving both lead generation and effective CRM.

Key Responsibilities:

Business & Marketing Strategy

· Define and lead the execution of the Business & Marketing strategy, including the portfolio strategy of the diverse product lines and services

· Define the right digital strategies to optimize lead generation, digital presence, and Customer Relationship Management

· Analyze and share insight on country specific expertise of marketing performance, competitors, trends, B2B buyer and end- consumer understanding etc.

· Provide input to the long-term strategic planning process and the short-term budgeting process to achieve optimal setting of country specific targets with respect to volumes, the P&L and capital investments

· Assess, understand, and analyze the P&L and factors driving it to ensure overall budget constraints

Operations and Implementation

· Overall UK responsibility for product launches, volume, and throughput performance on an ongoing basis across different machine bases and portfolios. Make recommendations and improvements to portfolio mix to maximize UK opportunity

· Define and develop the Klix, Flavia, Bean to Cup, Mirco Markets and Coffee to Go propositions and portfolios, delivering the implementation and overall marketing requirements for all installs and new business including promotional and point of sale comms

· Responsible to implement new product launches and rebranding of existing products to ensure operationally they are successfully delivered verses the business plan

Stakeholder Management

· Support the proposal, implementation, and follow-up of sales plans, working together with the Sales department

· Build trust and strong collaborative relationships with key marketing stakeholders in Lavazza Group HQ

· Define, monitor, and act on critical business KPI's, together with the other members of the management team with monthly/regular analysis of data and progress of the annual business plan

Communication and Media

· Define communication plan to target core business audiences

· Ensure the communication development within budget constraints

· Verify the effectiveness of the actual media plan, to achieve targets within budget constraints and suggest improvements to the media plan, based on various inputs from the organisation

· Ensure and track effectiveness of digital strategies

People Management

· Provide excellent line management, coaching and personal development to the Marketing Team, operating in accordance with Group guidelines and the Lavazza Values

Ensure professional development of the Marketing team, evaluating people and proposing training and development initiatives

Direct reports will be six associates

Budget and financial controls will be part of this role.

Qualifications - Relevant qualifications and experience must be shown

Leadership and People Management - demonstrates excellence in people leadership and line management. Will role model the Lavazza values in the Marketing organisation. Able to act as a role model in authentic and credible communication with the team. Able to engage staff, set a vision for the future and hold people to account.

Financial acumen - demonstrable experience on managing and controlling significant budgets and has the financial acumen to understand and analyse the UK P&L and investment proposals

Customer centricity - has a proven history of putting the customer at the heart of business decisions and priorities. Can act as the voice of the customer/consumer and champion the customer/consumer experience within the organisation

Cross-functional relationships - establishes strong working relationships outside of immediate function, coordinate activities between functions and manage multiple stakeholders.

Change Management - has a significant experience in leading projects, process improvement and culture change within an organisation. Not afraid to stand alone, take difficult decisions and hold others to account. Have a robustness to deliver results and bring others on a journey.

The successful candidate will have to complete and satisfy a DBS check
