About The Role

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, friendly and supportive Communications Coordinator to take up a new and exciting role within our marketing team, based in Rustington.

The role will involve being the key contact between the Marketing/Communications teams and the Education Service within Compass Community.

This will include creating relationships with over 20 schools within the service and being the conduit for sharing news, stories and developments with our staff, local authority partners and potential teaching staff.

This is a hybrid role, with 2 days based in our office in Rustington, and 3 days working from home. You may be required to attend the office for additional days during your induction period.

Key responsibilities

  • Working with the Communications Manager to form a communications strategy and process, in line with the wider group strategy.
  • Set up systems for the flow of news/information/updates/stories from each school to generate regular engaging content for sharing.
  • Work with a variety of different teams to effectively communicate information from Compass Education to several different internal and external stakeholders via our websites, emails, publications and social media.
  • Creating relationships with Heads of School to be able to effectively market the homes to Local Authorities, parents and prospective staff.
  • Working with Compliance to ensure websites are “Ofsted ready”.
  • Working with the Family Finding team on creating graphics / flyers / emails to showcase the homes to Local Authority partners.
  • Assist with the development of child participation strategy.
  • Occasional travel to other offices/sites as required.

Essential:

  • 1-2 years' experience working in a communications-based role.
  • Confidence - ability to easily forge relationships with senior members of the Education team, as well as sharing opinions in meetings, both physical and digital, where senior managers may be present.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and literacy skills.
  • Experience of using Canva.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience designing in Mailchimp.
  • Experience designing in Adobe Creative suite.
  • Any experience with WordPress
  • Understanding or knowledge of child services / education.
