We require a Database Developer Contractor with demonstrated experience within the MS Access environment; SQL and VBScript skills are also required. The position requires knowledge and actual experience integrating database functionality with other MS office applications and document automation.

The successful applicant will work with scientific team members (who do not have a professional IT background) in order to automate workflows, document production and/or analysis processes.

To be effective in this role, the applicant will need to be a good communicator, with the ability to listen to and understand our scientists' requirements; translating these into efficient software driven solutions.

Further experience in setting up development environments and towards full-stack programming for LAMP infrastructure including setting up security controls is desirable.

Flexible working (on/off site). Pay rate: £25-35 p/h, depending on experience.
