Job Responsibility:
The Role
A Business Analysis Lead is required to join the Change Team on a permanent basis. The Change Team at Canopius is responsible for co-ordinating, monitoring and executing a clearly defined Change Programme that works in alignment with the strategic goals and objectives of the business.
Reporting into the Business Architect, the Business Analysis Lead will play a critical role in the Change leadership team responsible for shaping and setting the standards and methodology for Business Analysis, ensuring both leaders and peers deliver a shared purpose. To establish a high-performing BA practice, with aligned ways of working, standards, building out relevant frameworks and career pathways and to upskill, grow and develop your team of BA's.
Responsibilities will include:
You and your team will work across the company's entire Change portfolio incorporating regulatory, operating model and technology transformations for a major Lloyd's Managing Agent.
You will:
- Lead and develop the current team of 9 Business Analysts across multiple projects or programmes
- Own the business analysis methodology and standards and be “hands-on” in ensuring technical and business requirements are met.
- Shape and implement a standardised Business Analysis framework
- Planning and resource allocation of the BA team according to priorities set by the business.
- Providing status updates from the BA team, ensuring that the team delivers in line with its commitments.
- Working with the Lead Business Analyst to define best practice for the Business Analyst team and champion adherence.
- Coaching, reviewing and encouraging growth of team to be a high performing team
- Responsible for recruitment for an expanding BA team and managing the onboarding process
- Review proposed benefits and highlight any risks/issues in new/redesigned processes/solutions across all projects that form the Change Portfolio
- Provide analytical oversight on larger projects and look across the change portfolio, recognising cross project dependencies, ensuring these are appropriately managed
- Build strong relationships with internal business peers and develop and maintain an understanding of the business process areas that form the change portfolio
- On occasions, personally be assigned to projects as the business analyst work with business stakeholders to define their requirements, translate these into user stories, and define acceptance criteria and support the project through it's lifecycle.
Skills and experience:
- Must have demonstrable experience of working as a Lead or Senior Business Analyst ideally in the London Insurance market, or at a minimum financial services.
- Proven experience directly managing and developing a team of Business Analysts across multiple projects and a large change portfolio
- Experience of creating and managing the implementation of a standardised Business Analysis framework and best practice in a change transformation environment.
- Strong knowledge and experience using industry standard business analysis tools
- Proven experience in cost benefit analysis and the development of business benefits cases.
- The ability to support across a variety of business disciplines, embrace complexity, and have excellent skills in delivering clear communication
- Strong interpersonal skills, a positive cando attitude and able to collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders within technology, the Change & Transformation team, and the wider organisation.
- Experience establishing and embedding best practice for new ways of working and instil a culture of innovation within the team
