About the team & role

Do you excel in a dynamic environment where precision and compliance are paramount? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Pay & Conditions Team as a full time payroll administrator providing a payroll service for Gloucestershire County Council and a number of external clients.

Working at the heart of the council, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of cost effective, timely services to ensure we meet the needs of internal and external customers. Your role will involve processing payroll payments, dealing with pay queries via our ContactUs helpline and providing guidance on employment terms & conditions.

About you

As a payroll administrator you will bring your excellent organisational skills to allow you to prioritise workloads and ensure our service levels are maintained. You will have relevant administrative payroll experience and a good understanding and knowledge of payroll processes to ensure compliance regarding the regulations.

You will need to be technically efficient and possess excellent communication and customer service, to enable you to efficiently answer tax and pay queries. The successful applicant must be able to cope under pressure and manage competing demands checking information to ensure our payrolls are accurate, meet statutory requirements and processed within the monthly deadlines.

This post will require full NPPV (Non Police Personnel) Level 2 security clearance in order for probation to be passed and a permanent job offer confirmed.
