Holland Hall, Lancashire Tourism Awards Hotel Wedding Venue Of The Year (February 2024) is looking to recruit an ambitious and focused Events/Sales Coordinator/Manager to join our new dynamic team. The role is open to candidates looking for either their first role in events or a more experienced seasoned professional.

We are looking for individual passionate about sales & people with a keen eye for detail and a passion for business. WHAT IS THE JOB ROLE...

Your primary role will be to secure audiences of all aspects of our conferences and events. You will work very closely with our wedding and hospitality team to understand both the event and the target market and build the value proposition to successfully drive sales. You'll follow up on leads, conduct show arounds, close sales enquiries and drive group bookings. Relationship building and strong communication skills are critical for this position.

  • Oversee all aspects of event planning and management, including internal and external events, with experience planning exhibitions and large business-to-business events.
  • Create sales opportunities for future events during client liaisons and during events, including possessing a strong working knowledge of the company to further these sales opportunities & planning multiple events at once.
  • You will organise and supervise business, promotional and social events. Your duties will include brainstorming with management to enhance an events success, preparing budgets and working with our chefs and other hand picked vendors to deliver events that meet the audiences requirements.
  • Communicate with marketing team to create effective advertisements for each event, and when necessary crafting marketing materials such as print and Internet advertisements for individual events
  • Anticipate and planning for different scenarios
  • You will create relationships and generate revenue with clients, conduct research for relevant contacts/companies using a structured sales process from lead qualification, initial contact and acquisition, presentation and contract negotiation
  • You will develop client relationships based on a strategic planning and a methodical approach creating a solid base for key account management
  • You will coordinate with sales, marketing and operation teams on joint efforts and deliverables.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU...

  • 1-2 years' work experience (or equivalent) with a proven track record in sales would be advantageous
  • Very good understanding of new technologies and/or technological background would be a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, in person and in writing, to many different audiences, ranging from executives to operational teams
  • The understanding of good project management
  • Knowledge of the business development process, including commercial awareness, industry insights and consultative selling skills that can be applied to opportunities
  • Manage multiple priorities successfully
  • Highly flexible, able to handle changing directions/priorities and roles as business needs evolve
  • Fluency in English in both written and spoken form are essential
  • Highly motivated and service orientated with the ability to inspire people, coupled with strong networking skills
  • Quick learner, conceptual, analytical skills and a willingness to learn with ability to understand complex issues and products

JOB TYPE: Full Time - 40 hours per week

PACKAGE: Flexible working hours, salary isdepending on experience plus a fantastic REALISTIC bonus structure

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Create event proposals which fit client requirements and presenting proposals by deadline

· Maintain a working relationship with vendors and venues

· Plan event aspects, such as venue, seating, dining, and guest list

· Delegate event planning tasks to other staff members where necessary

· Demonstrate to clients strong knowledge of venues and vendor offerings and taking clients on tours of venue possibilities

· Coordinate event entertainment, including music, performers, and guest speakers

· Stay within budget while planning event specifications

· Issue invoices and collecting payments in a timely manner, and creating comprehensive and readable financial reports

· Manage and overseeing events on the day of, including problem-solving, welcoming guests, directing event set-up, communicating with staff, and organising vendors

· Conduct market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs

· Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking and social media

· Set up meetings with potential clients

· Create frequent reviews and reports with sales and financial data

· Participate on behalf of the company at network meetings or conferences

· Negotiate/close deals and handle customer enquiries

· General reception duties

· Gather feedback from customers or prospects and share with internal teams
