Job Responsibility:

Internal Recruiter - full or part time

£30 - £35kpa salary pro-rata depending on experience

33 days holiday (pro rata) and Contributory Pension

Location - Based in Whetstone, Leicester (LE8 6NU) - Hybrid Working, with regular visits to Frankley (B45)

Base Materials Ltd are a chemical engineering business across 2 sites (Whetstone & Frankley) with its core activities being the manufacture of styling, modelling and tooling materials for the production of high-quality precision moulds, master models, jigs & fixtures, across a diverse range of applications and industries including automotive, aerospace, motor sport, marine and varied industrial application.

As part of our ongoing Growth Plan, we are seeking to broaden our internal expertise with a newly scoped Internal Recruiter role. Our business is experiencing a period of sustained growth and consequently our recruitment activities are ever increasing. We therefore need a dedicated recruiter to take full ownership of these processes from initial scoping through to offer negotiations and pre-employment checks. The successful candidate will work closely with hiring managers, the Marketing team and HR to ensure our talent acquisition processes are robust and effective, ultimately enabling us to continue to build a capable, high-performing team.

As the first point of contact candidates have with our Company, you will be responsible for creating excitement and enthusiasm for what we do, how we operate and the opportunities we can offer. As a balance, there is also the need for detailed and candid conversations about the expectations and the realities of our roles to ensure we get the right fit the first time and there are no surprises for either party down the line.

This role will suit someone from a dedicated recruitment background (not necessarily inhouse) with experience handling both head office functions and industrial/manufacturing roles. This role reports into our HR Business Partner and will also work closely with our external HR Consultants.

We are looking for someone with energy, drive, enthusiasm and good pace. On a day to day basis duties will include:

  • Use LinkedIn, online job campaigns (and networking events if appropriate) to search, identify and attract quality candidates.
  • Efficiently qualify candidates against job criteria using relevant assessments and phone screenings as well as detail within CV's/application documents.
  • Assist in scoping job roles, creating JD's and job adverts in conjunction with hiring managers and HR.
  • Investigate and develop a suitable applicant tracking system.
  • Respond to applications swiftly, ensuring every applicant is acknowledged and those unsuccessful informed as such directly and with sensitivity.
  • At all times act as a representative of the Company and communicate professionally, ensuring our employer voice is consistent and positive.
  • Create candidate profiles/blurbs to present to hiring managers along with their CV's and key information such as notice period, salary expectations, commute time and working hours preferences if applicable.
  • Make arrangements for and attend interviews including organising relevant assessments, collating candidate information, creating interviewer packs and booking meeting rooms / interview panels.
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing on website and social media job campaigns.
  • Monitor and report on KPI's such as time to hire, cost per hire, and factors affecting recruitment.
  • Manage recruitment agency partnerships, negotiating terms and tracking temp to perm arrangements.
  • Manage production recruitment on both a direct and agency basis ensuring we maintain optimum staffing and skill levels and retain good talent.
  • Stay up to date with relevant employment legislation and review and amend our practices accordingly.
  • Support HR with the onboarding process to facilitate a seamless transition for new starters.
  • Conduct right to work and reference checks for new starters ensuring critical documentation is received prior to start.
  • Deliver unsuccessful news to candidates personally and in a timely manner, providing constructive feedback to help their development.
  • Ad hoc administrative and support duties to support the HR function.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • GCSE's in English and Maths at a minimum of Grade 4/C, or equivalent
  • At least 3 years in a dedicated recruitment role with a demonstrable track record
  • Experience conducting right to work checks
  • Use of online job platforms and CV Searching tools/platforms
  • Intermediate MS Office skills
  • Desirable - Level 3 CIPD qualification
  • Desirable - Experience within a dedicated recruitment role in a manufacturing or similar SME, particularly as a standalone position.
  • Desirable - Working knowledge of ATS
  • Desirable - Experience using HRIS (ours is PeopleHR so knowledge of this would be highly advantageous)
