Milestone Infrastructureis currently looking to recruit an Area Scheduler to work on our Cambridgeshire Highways contract.
As the Area Scheduler you will be part of our Operations team who are responsible for delivering the core highway maintenance functions on the contract. This role will be based from our Witchford & Whittlesford depots in Cambridgeshire.
As the Area Scheduler your duties & responsibilities will be:
- Prepare Highway Maintenance programmes in conjunction with the Depot Supervisors and Area Manager
- Liaise with Local Highway Officers to ensure all works order information is provided to successfully schedule the work
- Liaise and build positive working relationships with Cambridgeshire's Streetworks team
- Create, monitor and update Streetworks permits to create compliant programmes
- Book traffic management teams from supply chain. Organise advanced warning signs and letter drops.
- Challenge the detail and timing of works programmes where necessary with the delivery team
- Schedule works orders to mobile devices
- Maximise productivity through effective programming whilst ensuring we meet contractual response times
- Liaise with Client and delivery teams to allocate emergencies to the relevant gangs
- Drive the future use of Causeway and support our move to a digital workplace
- Ensure all works are planned and coordinated and identify efficiency savings where appropriate.
- Provide administration support when required
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- Experience in effective programming of construction or maintenance works, preferably in the highway maintenance industry
- Understanding of the Traffic Management Act (Street works Permitting), including the use of Street Manager
- Excellent communication skills - verbal and written - to ensure clarity in all situations and to effectively influence client decision-making
- Understanding of NRSWA/Safety at Street Works and Road Works: A Code of Practice.
- Experience of managing a team, particularly in managing performance against KPIs and business priorities.
- Great team working skills, the ability to collaborate well with others and develop excellent relationships with contacts at all levels - from the client to colleagues and contacts across Milestone and M Group Services
