Job Responsibility:

Purpose of the role:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Assistant will own all accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks from start to end, and will play a key role in maintaining and improving both functions.

Main Duties and Key responsibilities

  • Own and manage the trade creditors ledger
  • Manage the AP inbox
  • Process all invoices, including for inventory and non-inventory invoices into system
  • Ensure invoices are approved by the business in a timely manner and chase any unapproved invoices before month end
  • Process all credit card statements and arrange timely payments
  • Propose weekly payment runs to the Financial Controller
  • Set up BACs files and payments in online banking for multiple currencies
  • Process all bank and cash postings, including direct debits
  • Prepare month end reconciliations for:
    • Trade Creditors, including ageing
    • Credit cards
    • Supplier deposits
    • Supplier statements
  • Support the finance team on implementation of expenses process and software
  • Own the expenses process once set up
  • Process weekly bank postings and cash receipts from customers into the system
  • Reconcile AR ledger weekly and support Sales Channels with chasing up late payments from customers
  • Reconcile Ecommerce and Stores revenues to cash received via Stripe and Paypal
  • Support with AP and AR year end schedules for audit
  • Continuously look to improve and automate processes and controls in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, challenge the status quo and implement best practice to enable a faster month end close and accurate reporting.
  • Any other duties that may be reasonably delegated to you in line with your abilities, skills and experiences.

Requirements

Previous experiences and qualifications relevant to the role:

  • Experience of working in an Accounts Payable function is preferred
  • Accounts Receivable experience is preferred but not a necessity
