Automotive Hub Operative

  • £26,200 per annum
  • Monday to Friday 40 hr working week
  • Alternate shift pattern between 6am - 8pm

The Role

The purpose of this role is to carry out the day-to-day operation of a logistics hub. You will be the first point of contact for our Regional Hub Manager and Team Leader, liaising with them to feedback information regarding the hub. Along with building a great rapport with our field-based team of drivers, you will deal with their queries and assist with their work where necessary. This role will suit a sociable person who enjoys working in an environment where no two days are the same.

Key Duties

  • To administer and support approximately 190 drivers ensuring their work is carried out each day as smoothly as possible.
  • Be computer literate as training will be given in vehicle recording and reporting processes such as Manpack, Vision, AS400, M-Store, TM-Locate
  • Maintain Control of stock levels within the HUB. Escalate to the business any vehicles over 72hrs
  • Inform the planners of any changes to the daily plan.
  • Liaise with Non Conformance where required for Aborts, Breakdowns and Accidents.
  • Liaise with non-conformance to ensure any vehicles recovered to the hub due to mechanical issues are moved without delay
  • Safe custody and distribution of keys for the vehicles.
  • Book all vehicles in/out on Vision in real time.
  • Secure and account for all vehicles within the Hub.
  • Provide Daily hub stocklist, liaise with planning to ensure all vehicles are moved within 48hrs for forward delivery
  • Be prepared to take on extra jobs and assist the drivers in carrying out this task out.
  • Keep a record and Audit of all the Trade Plates Fuel Cards and sign in/out.
  • To be aware of individual driver's skills and abilities
  • Enforce reporting of BCA Logistics' driver code of conduct to ensure a smart professional work force to relevant manager
  • Liaise with administration department to resolve driver paperwork queries
  • Report complaints from drivers to relevant manager
  • Ensure the office is kept in a clean and tidy condition maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Maintain a professional and efficient location in order to portray BCA Logistics in the very best light to customers and employees alike.
  • Complete all yard duties as required.
  • Ensure the hub is locked and secure out of hours.
  • Be responsible for site keys and on the call out list.
  • Ensure security of the site is maintained at all times and reporting any suspicious activities.
  • Be responsible for safe and appropriate use of HHT's, PC's and other company equipment.
  • Report all H&S issues on the site to relevant parties.
  • Such other duties as may reasonably be requested
