Job Responsibility:

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the East Suffolk Cardiac Rehab Team for a part-time (27.4 hours a week) Band 4 Exercise Instructor, this will include a Monday working from 12 -8pm. We are seeking an enthusiastic and professional Exercise Instructor to join our team delivering Cardiac Rehabilitation to the population of East Suffolk. You will be committed to teamwork, delivering high quality patient care and have a desire for ongoing professional development. You must have a NVQ level 3 exercise-based qualification with some experience of delivering group exercise classes. A large part of your time will be spent assisting with the running of exercise groups and individual exercise assessments, but you will also have your own small caseload of patients supporting them with home-based exercise programmes. You will be working as part of the team and will need to have a flexible approach to working as the role is very varied and is located at venues across East Suffolk. You will need to have excellent communication skills, especially in motivating and supporting patients with lifestyle changes, have excellent written skills, be computer literate and hold a full driving licence. We will provide a comprehensive induction to introduce you to the role and offer a variety of training to up-skill and maintain clinical skills. To assist with the exercise assessments of patients and writing of exercise prescriptions To Prepare venues for exercise groups To assist with or lead the exercise group sessions either face to face or virtually To complete Phase IV exercise referrals To identify any other agencies that may be able to help with a patient's care. To manage your own caseload of patients and progress their home exercise programmes To be able to identify if a patient is not suitable for exercising or is struggling mid class To use judgement to ensure safety when rehabilitating patients by continuous risk assessment throughout the day in all environments.
