(£1000 for full time employees, pro rata for part time) Doncaster Council is currently seeking to recruit Waking Night Children's Residential Officers to be employed in one of our children's homes. You will work under the supervision and advice of the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager and senior residential care officer, to work sensitively as a team member in providing a warm caring enabling environment designed to meet the emotional, social and physical needs of looked after children and young people. Some duties consist of general housekeeping including washing and ironing of the young people clothes, cleaning the home, completing paperwork for children's files and other clerical tasks. You will be expected to have good communication skills and basic IT skills, be able to work independently with support of a sleeping in member of staff, and complete tasks set out on their shift plan. You will ensure the discreet oversight of the young people at regular intervals during the night or as directed by the Manager or senior officers. Ensure that the home is safe and secure and be able to report and liaise with other agencies such as the Police and social care if a Child is missing from care. Flexibility is essential for this role; you must be prepared to provide cover for other night care officers when on annual leave, training or sick leave in addition to your contracted hours. The Registered manager may also offer additional shifts within the day to promote individual training and integrated working across the home. The candidate will be willing and able to undertake and complete any training required for the roll and must complete QCF level 3 within two years of their start of employment as Residential Care Officer as this is mandatory requirement of children's homes regulations. The candidate will also be competent to complete training and implement Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Signs of Safety model.
