This is a newly created, senior-leadership role within our Chief Technology Office (CTO). The CTO function is responsible for the design, provision, integration and management of all technology assets that support our customers, partners and colleagues. The function is made up of the following teams - Service Enablement, Infrastructure & Cloud Engineering, Architecture, Test & Development Services and Product Delivery.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Networks to join our team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of the Aldermore Group's network infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring the security, efficiency, and reliability of our network systems.
What will your day look like?
- Develop and implement strategic plans for network infrastructure aligned with the bank's overall IT strategy, with a 3-5 year planning horizon
- Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of all network systems, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks, ensuring the infrastructure is scalable, secure, and optimized for performance
- Lead and mentor the network team, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities and fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
- Develop and manage the network department budget, ensuring efficient use of resources, and manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure quality and cost-effective solutions
- Oversee network incident response and resolution, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations, and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents
What do we expect from you?- Significant proven experience in a similar Head of Network role, successfully leading technical teams and projects
- Extensive experience with network architecture, design, and implementation with strong knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and software
- Proven ability to facilitate problem-solving among administrative groups with varying needs and priorities, and to communicate well with administrative users, technical staff, and senior management
- In-depth knowledge of network security best practices and compliance requirements
- Experience managing large-scale network projects and budgets.
- Excellent leadership and relationship management skills - able to work effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams
