Job Responsibility:

Business: The ReFood AD plants operate as integrated recycling units, processing a variety of food waste to produce renewable electricity, heat and ReGrow, a nutrient-rich fertiliser for local farms. The plants also recycle the food waste packaging. The plants provide an environmentally sustainable solution for all waste producers looking for a safe method of diverting food waste from landfills.

The Position: An exciting opening has arisen for a Site Operative to join the team at ReFood's Anaerobic digestion facility in Doncaster. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to join an established and growing company that is committed to helping conserve natural resources and protect the environment.

This is a permanent role working an average of 42 hours per week (12 hour shifts) 4 on / 4 off shift pattern days and nights.

As a Site Operative your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the factory requirements but will include:

  • Assisting the AD Site Supervisor in controlling and coordinating the safe and efficient operation of the ReFood operation in accordance with management instructions, Health & Safety and Legislative requirements.
  • Operating the Mobile Plant in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with Group Policies and Procedures.
  • Assisting with ensuring that the facility, its plant, and equipment are maintained and cleaned as specified.
  • Working in accordance with staff rosters and the provision of cover for planned/unplanned absence.
  • Undertaking any other duties reasonably requested by the ReFood Management Team

Requirements

  • Be prepared to handle food waste and associated waste products at all times. Some heavy lifting may be required.
  • Be able to work on your own or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Have the ability to undertake, process and quality checks and perform basic lab tests.
  • A counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence is essential.
  • Be flexible, practical, and hardworking.

Initially you will be required to work a regular day shift Monday to Friday during training prior to moving onto shifts in early October 2024
