Job Responsibility:

An exciting opportunity is available to join the team as a Endoscopy Administrator within the Endoscopy Booking Unit. This role involves supporting the throughput of work in a very busy department with multiple daily priorities. The department operates over two sites (Victoria and Queen Margaret Hospitals). Our responsibilities include a varied list of tasks linked to a patient's journey through the Fife endoscopy units. Ranging from receipt of referrals, waiting list coordination, booking, reception and post procedure admin. You will join a team environment responsible for patient bookings, including Bowel Screening, Suspect Cancer referrals and also a Surveillance recall waiting list for the Fife population. The department also has administration and reception input for Victoria Hospital Day Surgery, Planned Intervention Day Unit (PIDU) and Surgical Elective Admission Lounge (S.E.A.L) units. Candidates should be educated to Standard Grade (or equivalent). Previous experience in a busy office environment is essential. Previous NHS experience involving booking appointments would be advantageous. You must be able to demonstrate good organisational, listening and problem solving skills. You should have flexible approach to work and be able to work in various sections as required, with the ability to prioritise and deal with the day to day workload in a busy environment. NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
