The role The role involves supporting the research, design, configuration and maintenance of systems, software, and tools associated with Data Centre infrastructure, Digital Radio, and Telecommunications system. Additionally, physical maintenance tasks on all Technology infrastructure, with a view to achieving a proactive maintenance regime based on Systems Engineering principles within one calendar year, is a fundamental requirement of the position.
- Familiarization with several Portals and Operating Systems pertaining to the effective Monitor and Control of all Data Centre
and Communications systems at the airports and London Office.
- Assist with the development of an effective Proactive Maintenance regime for all equipment under the Team's care.
- Monitor for, respond to, and resolve Service Requests as they occur (Reactive maintenance)
- Assist with all phases of new infrastructure system integration and upgrades, to include design, engineering, installation,
and configuration.
- Perform administrative configuration tasks on all systems to a high degree of accuracy.
- Develop and update policies, procedures, documentation, network administration and diagrams.
- Provide daily monitoring/fault diagnosis and maintenance for all infrastructure systems.
- Develop and deliver monthly “Dashboard” reports based on accumulated data.
- Interface with suppliers and other departments within the organization to chase down task resolution.
- Managing analogue, IP and cloud-based telecommunications systems, including Microsoft Teams, AudioCodes, OVOC,
and Siemens PABX.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure scheduled maintenance is executed and incidents are addressed promptly.
What will make you successful in the role?
- Would suite Graduate / Diploma holder / Experienced IT / Engineering practitioner with varied early work experience, looking to
grow into a multi skilled IT / Engineering environment.
- Strong IT knowledge, including a good understanding of IP networking
- Physical work in challenging environments, occasionally under pressure.
- Naturally inquisitive, confident, decisive, willing to develop within operationally sensitive surroundings.
- Familiar with operations portals, able to interrogate and configure systems without impacting operational integrity.
- Able to obtain Airside Driving Permits / Security Passes / Construction Industry H&S accreditations.
- Willing to travel to all sites as and when required.
- Responsible for own administration
