Job Responsibility:

An opportunity has arisen for experienced radiographers or health professionals wishing to enhance their skills to train in the specialist field of Ultrasound. Applicants will be a highly motivated, hardworking individual who can commit to an intense, but highly rewarding training course. This post is a fixed term for 15 months and requires successful applicants to undertake a qualification in Medical Ultrasound at a Higher Educational Institute. Training module choice will be selected based on service need across these areas. The candidate will then move forward to a Permanent Band 7 post once training has been completed. Applicants will hold a BSc (hons) Radiography or equivalent with significant post-qualified experience. Contingent upon completing PgCert before progression to PgDip. We are an enthusiastic team with an excellent track record in sonographer training. We are looking for applicants who have a passion to provide quality care for patients and can commit to the postgraduate training required of the post. Training will be provided across weekdays/weekends, at multiple sites both within STH and across the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw region as part of a collaborative US training academy. To undertake practical training in obstetric/gynaecological/vascular and/or general medical ultrasound procedures. This to be determined by the ultrasound leadership team. To complete the Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Medical Ultrasound provided by a higher educational institute (HEI) that provides accredited ultrasound training to postgraduate level and to continue as specified and required by the radiology service. To attend all taught modules provided by the relevant HEI. To work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing a high quality diagnostic ultrasound service whilst maintaining high standards of patient care. To ensure that practice is carried out in accordance with department policies and protocols. Develop the theoretical and practical knowledge/skills required to perform the range of ultrasound examinations in the clinical area of training. To undertake all ultrasound procedures delegated by the sonographers/clinical leads as part of training and development. To participate in a training programme working flexibly over a 7 day week.
