An opportunity has arisen for a reliable and competent administrator to provide vital administrative support to a key college department. As an MIS Data Administrator, you will need to be calm under pressure, enthusiastic and able to update and maintain databases to a high standard of accuracy. This challenging and varied role would provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to make a significant contribution to the functioning of the college. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to relevant departments and assist the Functional Skill assessors with administration support.

They will build strong, positive working relationships with a supportive and collaborative team and professional services that share the goal of providing a meaningful educational experience.

They will have excellent organisational and time-management skills and can prioritise work effectively to meet objectives and deadlines. They will be comfortable with and proactively adapt to rapid changes in educational trends within the sector. They will be able to plan and prioritise their own schedule of work to achieve objectives, have strong IT skills, and be happy to be part of a close-knit team with shared objectives.

Job Overview

  • Processing and updating personal and qualification data onto the college's student tracking system
  • To help to maintain and co-ordinate the college's rooming and timetabling software within the student tracking system
  • To develop an understanding of the ESFA funding rules to help assist in cleansing the college's funding returns
  • Maintaining effective student electronic and paper filing systems for easy retrieval of data
  • Ensuring that paperwork is complete and audit-compliant when entered into the system and using effective chasing mechanisms to collect any non-complete paperwork
  • To work flexibly to assist with a range of tasks across the department as required, including general office duties, i.e. photocopying
  • To ensure that all data is processed and recorded in an accurate and timely manner, with efficient throughput of paperwork in all workflow cycles
  • To make telephone calls, deal with routine enquiries, supply accurate information or take messages
  • To undertake staff development as appropriate to meet college targets
  • To adapt to developing working practices, ensuring effective and efficient performance, and that procedures are adhered to and deadlines met
  • Effective use of the college's communication systems, including email and telephone
  • Attend and regularly take and type up notes at departmental meetings

Qualifications
