We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Day Centre Assistant Manager to provide assistance and care to individuals in need. You will play a vital role in improving the quality of life for the citizens we care for.

Responsible to: the Care Manager

Responsible for: the day-to-day running of the Day Centre in the absence of the Care Manager.

Main Objectives: to assist in overseeing and co-ordinating the running of the service, ensuring a safe, stimulating and caring environment for the citizens.

A summary of an Assistant Managers duties includes but are not limited to: -

· To positively support the Care Manager in providing leadership to the administration,care, catering, housekeeping, and maintenance functions of the service.

· To deputise for the function of the Care Manager during their absence, whilst at alltimes, supporting the decisions made by the Care Manager.

· To maintain skills at a current level and undertake such training and development asmay from time-to-time be required to maintain that currency of practice.

· To manage the service in accordance with standards agreed with the Care Manager,the Registered Provider, legislative requirements, relevant regulations and in line withaccepted best practice, and within the financial plans agreed from time-to-time withthe Registered Provider.

· Ensure citizens are at the heart of the care delivery and their wishes andpreferences enhance their wellbeing.

· The efficient and effective day-to-day management of the human resources involvedin providing care through the staff team and ensuring that the required standards aremaintained.

· Ensuring all recording systems and organisational documentation are of a highstandard and kept up to date.

· To ensure all staff at the service receive formal supervision and appraisals.

· Oversee the duty rota in advance, ensuring the correct number of staff and skill mix asneeded.

· Be responsible for promoting and protecting the welfare of those individualssupported by the service.

The Manager will still retain overall responsibilities for these duties being carried out satisfactory.

These responsibilities must be carried out with due regard to the organisations Equal Opportunities Policy.

The Assistant Manager will be required to work from 40 hours per week, between the hours of 07:45am-17:30pm, Monday - Friday.

Specific Requirement of Previous ExperienceIt is essential that the candidate has a supervisory or management qualification appropriate to the role and previous experience of working in a similar environment with service users, in particular, those that may have additional support needs.
