Job Responsibility:
Job title: Gynaecology Administrative/Clinical Assistant Hours: Full time 37.5 hours/week Salary: 25,000 per annum Job Summary: We have an opening for an Administrator and Clinical assistant. The role would involve working in the administrative and clinical setting of the Gynaecology Collaborative team, you will use your administrative experience to support the day-to-day running of the service. You will also provide support as a clinical assistant on site with the support of Heath Care assistants. Job responsibilities: 1. Monitor referral inboxes and process incoming referrals accordingly. 2. Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and manage other forms of communication promptly. 3. Manage clinic rotas using EMIS web, including making patient bookings and dealing with patient queries appropriately. 4. Action follow-up instructions according to GP consultation notes (i.e. discharge letters, secondary care referrals, follow-up appointments, chasing up receipt of investigations results. 5. Minute taking at Operational Team meeting and providing clerical assistance to Federation staff as required. 6. Undertaking a wide range of administrative duties which include ensuring all information is managed correctly, filed and followed up accordingly. 7. Have a working knowledge of all office-based software and hardware, ie. photocopier, fax, patient information system. 8. Assist clinicians during procedures, ensuring that the appropriate equipment is readily available. 9. Support in managing the process of booking patients in when arrive at clinic sites. 10. Assist with pre-screening prior to their appointments if needed, providing reassurance to all service users that their safety is our primary focus when providing care. 11. Assist with labelling, recording and dispatching of specimens/samples taken in clinic. 12. Follow -up patient results with pathology laboratories and ensure all results are received back in a timely manner to avoid delays in patient care. 13. Be responsible for weekly checks on Emergency Medicines and equipment held at clinic locations. 14. Under the direction of Service Manager, support the management of stock including stock-taking and ordering. 15. Maintaining confidentiality or information relating to patients, relatives, staff and the practice. 16. Take the necessary precautions when transmitting information and understand the relevancy of and comply with GDPR. 17. Demonstrate flexibility in working pattern, times and location to support best patient care, in mutual agreement with the service manager. About Islington GP Federation Islington GP Federation (IGPF) is a growing organisation representing 31 practices; we have established ourselves as a leader in new ways of working, including running Islingtons extended access primary care services (I: HUB) as well as supporting the Islington Primary Care Networks (PCNs). Our current range of services include the Extended Access Service, I: HUB, Community Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Integrated Community Gynaecology, practice-based pharmacists and a range of practice support mechanisms. IGPF works very closely with a range of partners including the regional commissioning group, NHS England, Healthy London Partnership, Public Health, localhospitals such as UCLH, Whittington Health and the London Borough of Islington. IGPF is the host organisation for the Primary Care Network (PCN) workforce and the Islington Training Hub and has been working for over two years to create trainingand development programmes that meet the needs of staff working in primary and community care settings.
