Job Description Job title: Lead Integrator Retirement Platform Location: Edinburgh Hours: Full time Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our above offices. Within Scottish Widows, the Retirement Platform exists to help customers live their retirement to the full. If we get this right, each year we'll help tens of thousands of retirees navigate the complex financial choices they need to make. We can't think of many better ways to help Britain prosper. We're a growing and successful Platform recruiting heavily in 2024. We own the Individual Annuity product (the market has doubled in the last few years) and the retirement journey for various customer groups within IP&I. We have plans to add new products in 2025 - so this is a great time to join us and be a part of our growth journey. You'll play a critical role in the success of the Platform with responsibilities for coordinating and interlocking dependencies between the Platform and external stakeholders. This will include coordinating complex and high-risk implementations such as the upgrade of our legacy Annuities system to a market leading modernised system. The Lead Integrator sits at Platform-level and covers both business and technology change. What you'll be doing:
- Establishes pivotal integration points across Labs/Platforms and effectively communicates these integration points to relevant partners.
- Develops the sequence for integration related tasks in collaboration with Lab Leadership and aligned to the Lab backlog.
- Catalogues and manages dependencies between the platform and other teams.
- Works with colleagues outside of the platform to ensure interlock to enable the platform to deliver at pace.
- Identifies blockers to delivery and where possible mitigates / resolves, raising to product owner(s) / platform leadership where required.
- Manages suppliers (3rd Party), providing oversight and managing underperformance.
- Manages complex and high-risk implementations requiring integration between multiple parties (internal/external) to ensure safe delivery.
- Coordinates the integration process and / or implementation events across shared infrastructure (e.g. Upgrading the Mainframe); leads on the SI process, coordinating parties to get the change over the line.
- Provides expertise (not content) for governance activity owned by the Product Owner, e.g. PRIA, for change across multiple programmes.
What you'll need:
- Experience in applying agile methodologies to optimise innovation development and delivery. Significant experience with agile development methods & tooling e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Jira & Confluence, and experience of leading & working as part of an agile team.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver change, working with engineers, designers, and analysts. Able to create a product vision and define work to be done.
- Be data driven and bring evidence-based decision-making to explain 'why'.
- Experience of line managing others and creating an inclusive team environment that motivates, attracts, and retains talent.
- To be a phenomenal communicator, dynamic and adaptable. Can influence without authority, trusting and empowering others with responsibility and comfortable challenging senior leaders. Intellectually curious, loves learning new skills & capabilities and role models the learning culture.
- Ability to encourage your team with energy and passion and a focus on collaboration to lead and drive the shaping of new initiatives forward.
