Syndicate 1183 underwrites a number of classes of business including war and terrorism, energy, marine, financial lines, cyber, transport, political risk, crisis management, kidnap & ransom, contingency, property and treaty reinsurance. Through its expert team of underwriters and a balanced, geographically-diverse portfolio of business, Talbot has earned a reputation as an industry-leading insurance and reinsurance specialist. What you need to know This is a fantastic, varied role that covers all corporate reporting for Talbot where you will have the opportunity to get involved in all the different parts of the reporting cycle. Some of the key responsibilities include: Ensure complete, accurate and timely corporate reporting, including Talbot consolidation & Group reporting to AIG, corporate entity reporting, UK and overseas statutory reporting and regulatory reporting to Lloyds and other regulators Produce committee and board packs Ensure efficient and effective accounting processes and controls Intercompany reconciliations for service level agreements Balance sheet substantiation Support interim and year-end SOX requirements Ensure complete, accurate and timely broker financial reviews Ensure documentation is maintained for key processes and controls Keep up-to-date with changes in new financial reporting standards/disclosures and production of associated accounting judgement papers Support complete, accurate and timely tax submissions - this includes corporate tax returns for UK and overseas, Lloyds related submissions, Singapore GST, tax certificates and SAO documentation Participate in ad hoc projects, where necessary. What we're looking for: Qualified accountant with minimum 3 years PQE Experience of working in a similar role within the insurance industry Good knowledge of UK GAAP and US GAAP Advanced Excel skills Good knowledge general ledger systems (e.g. SAP/Sun) Good knowledge of financial process and controls Tax knowledge desirable #LI-AIG Enjoy benefits that take care of what matters At AIG, our people are our greatest asset.
