This person will produce top quality content by working alongside the various editorial and planning teams within SJP and the Partnership. The role holder will be a creative content writer - highly organised, and likely to come from a marketing, journalist or comms background. They will be able to craft content on a range of channels and be responsible for regular emails and news centres delivering content that delivers brand, strategy and operational messaging clearly. This person will be key in the execution of the broader comms and engagement strategy across the wider SJP business.
What you'll be doing:
- Create engaging and relevant content that reflects the needs of the audience, across written communication through to multimedia, online and offline.
- Outstanding copywriting skills, from writing innovative headlines, to supporting on a video script.
- Provide advice to stakeholders and other communicators on the communications options available to meet their required outcomes and bring briefs to life.
- Take briefs from stakeholders, challenging when appropriate to deliver measurable and creative communications that meet their outcomes.
- Develop (simple) communications plans in support of briefs.
- Lead the content on channels, taking ownership of the routine email communications and the structure, scheduling, and narrative of news centres.
- Build and maintain relationships with communication stakeholders to spot opportunities and strengthen the communications network.
- Occasionally work with editorial and planning team to ensure production and delivery runs efficiently against editorial calendar and themes.
- Support the organisation of key editorial and project meetings, including tracking outcomes and actions.
Who we're looking for:
- Validated experience in a communications environment.
- Knowledge of multi-channel content techniques with ability to create engaging content, with strong copywriting ability and the ability to create other forms of content such as video or audio (desirable).
- Able to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritise workload.
- Experience of managing briefs and working with stakeholders to ensure delivery in a busy comms environment.
- Experience of Office 365, SharePoint intranets and Viva Engage (Yammer).
- Proven planning and organisational skills.
- Able to review and edit documents for clarity, consistency and quality.
- Knowledge of Poppulo advantageous.
- High level of Corporate and business structure.
- Expert in publishing operational comms using SJP approved tools.
- Able to think creatively when faced with tactical production problems.
- High personal and professional integrity.
Special Requirements:
- Role is a blend of office and home based, although travel to other locations and events is likely.
- Travel will be required, with occasional requirement for overnight stay.
- Ad hoc out of hours may be required for reactive unforeseen communications needs and cyclical business events.
