You'll build trusted relationships with business stakeholders - and use the most exciting new technologies available - to create data-driven programmes that transform their organisations. Your advice will help clients position their organisations to succeed in an ever-evolving marketplace.

We are proud of the impact we have with our clients, the strength of our relationships and the variety of skills and expertise that we bring to help them achieve their mission.

Create impactful strategies and deliver industry defining mergers and acquisitions: our work is highly varied, advising on some of the most ambitious strategic programmes and transactions in the market.

Including:

  • Commercial analysis and business case construction
  • Strategy input to digital transformation or delivery programmes
  • New product development and market entry analysis
  • Customer and business unit strategy
  • Strategic operating model design
  • M&A strategy, including pre- and post- deal transformation, Day 1 preparations, and synergy identification
  • Learn from world-class experts: As well as being strategy and M&A experts, bridging the gap between strategy and execution is at the heart of what we do. We draw upon and work collaboratively with other parts of Deloitte - from areas as diverse as operations, technology, risk, corporate finance or tax - in order to deliver an unmatched client service capability.

Build a brand: Everyone in our team brings unique skills and experience. We take time to help each other develop a domain of expertise, building what we are known for as individuals and in the market.

Connect to your career at Deloitte

Using our vast range of expertise, that covers audit, risk advisory, and consulting services across tax, legal, business, technology and corporate finance, we help our clients become leaders wherever they choose to compete. To do this, we invest in outstanding people. We build teams of future thinkers, with diverse talents and backgrounds, and empower them all to reach for and achieve more.

What brings us all together at Deloitte? It's how we approach the thousands of decisions we make every day. How we behave, our beliefs and our attitudes. In other words: our values. Whatever we do, wherever we are in the world, we lead the way, serve with integrity, take care of each other, foster inclusion, and collaborate for measurable impact. These five shared values lead every decision we make and action we take, guiding us to deliver impact how and where it matters most.

Connect to your opportunity

As a Senior Consultant you will be delivering strategy and M&A work for our clients day-to-day, seeking to shape and initiate strategic direction (both organic and inorganic), define vision and choices, support performance and enable change.

While no two projects are the same, you will typically be delivering a workstream within a larger engagement with oversight and support from a manager or senior colleagues. You'll play a vital hands-on role in designing and executing the strategic analysis required, conducting research and assembling evidence, distilling insights and constructing organic and inorganic strategic growth recommendations.

At times this will include being the bridge from strategy / pre-deal planning into delivery, and we particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience in digital transformations, alongside core strategy and M&A skills.

To grow with confidence, organisations need to make clear choices about where to play and how to win. In a world where the pace of change is rapid and sometimes unexpected, leaders need to act nimbly and decisively. Deloitte's strategy and M&A consultants employ cutting edge approaches embedded with deep industry expertise, working with leaders and empowered teams to make critical choices and drive value.

Your role will include supporting with:

  • Strategy & Transformation: Design and deliver insight-driven strategy for transformation and wider organisational change. Working with clients to understand and define strategic choices ahead of key investment decisions. Using traditional evidence-led analysis to identify market development opportunities to support client strategies.
  • M&A Strategy: Design and define M&A strategies including identifying early target, venturing, or partnering options and building M&A roadmaps.
  • Commercial Strategy: Determining the optimum business or commercial model to effectively deliver client objectives. Guiding and supporting clients through imagining, defining and delivering their digital journey to enable competitive advantage. This could include: making choices about the markets served through digital, social, and mobile channels; optimising pricing decisions, supporting procurements / transactions, new commercial constructs between suppliers, distributors and customers, and shaping commercial agendas.
  • Strategic Performance: Helping our clients configure effectively and develop their ability to deliver operational excellence in specific areas. Identifying new ways of working that will stimulate innovation and growth, and lead to better decision-making. This may include delivery of improvements through performance optimisation or cost reduction / efficiency methods.
  • Business Case Strategy: Supporting organisations in drafting business cases for investment to improve delivery, in line with the strategic ambition. This can often lead to end-to-end support from business case design to implementation of the new resource/ capability/ change.
  • M&A Execution: Define and assess synergy targets and business plans, including management of synergy realisation. Support the planning and implementation of integration and separation projects, including the definition and delivery of Day One readiness, post-merger planning and integration execution.

As a Consultant your responsibilities will include:

  • Analytic thinking, problem solving and insight: Select appropriate methods for collecting and analysing data, to build an evidence base and develop informed recommendations that shape or support the clients' business strategy. Independently complete research and analysis to support quality deliverables.
  • Tools, skills and frameworks: Develop an understanding of strategy and M&A tools and frameworks to solve client problems and share best practice within the team.
  • Project delivery excellence: Own and deliver workstream activities with support from the team leader, providing insight and challenge. Own and deliver high-quality deliverables, planning and managing own activities. Identify and escalate project related issues, and provide appropriate mitigation recommendations.
  • Presentation & communication: Clearly communicate the analysis approach and results to team leaders and clients, and contribute insights and challenge. Organise insights and define a logical flow to tell a story when presenting recommendations.
  • Leadership & Development: Embody Deloitte's values and assist management of junior team members to support their development. Have a clear understanding of and demonstrate the firm's commitment to creating a more inclusive culture.
  • Team management: Assist with management activities, such as team budget, supporting engagement scoping and proactively creating agenda items for meetings.
  • Continuous Learning: Proactively develop your own skills, seeking feedback, building knowledge, and sharing your insight with colleagues.
  • Relationship management: Work closely with client peers, third parties and Deloitte peers to develop professional relationships.

The team: The role sits within SAMA, Strategy, Analytics and M&A, within Deloitte's Consulting practice. You will learn from a group of experienced strategists and M&A and industry experts from a diverse range of backgrounds. You'll also benefit from being part of the wider Deloitte Strategy and M&A community in the UK and globally, with opportunities to learn best practice strategy and transaction techniques across industries. Beyond the Strategy and M&A team, you will build a network with industry-experts across Deloitte Consulting, in digital, marketing, financial advisory, regulatory and operations.

Development: We offer a structured career path and invest in continuous development and learning, which matter greatly to us. Our growth in recent years has been strong and we have ambitious plans for the future: you will find that there is no lack of opportunity for you to develop your career, wherever you may choose to take it.
