About The Service Children's Play Services is part of Cardiff Council's Early Help team. The service provides local children and young people (aged five to fourteen) with quality, challenging, friendly and fun places to play regardless of their background or ability. The play we offer is child-centred, giving children and young people access to a wide range of activities and experiences. We offer free play opportunities which enable children to choose their preferred activity.
Our community play teams operate both open and closed access play schemes across Cardiff all year round. Open access schemes are free, drop-in play sessions where children and young people are supervised whilst on site and participating in their choice of activities. Closed access sessions are delivered for specific groups such as schools, young carers, children with disabilities and those living in hostels.
Children's Play Service also provide a range of play projects and events throughout the year. Including National Playday event which takes annually every August, for all children across Cardiff.

About the job Children's Play Services Play Organisers contribute to the successful operation, development and delivery of quality play opportunities within our play settings.
Part of a dynamic play team providing child centred, creative, fun and stimulating play opportunities, we are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Play Organiser to join the current Play Team.

Must have experience of working with children in a playwork environment. Supporting children to participate in free play activities.
Experience of planning, preparing and delivering a stimulating, exciting and challenging play environment, through consultation with children to empower their play.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with children, young people and their families.
A commitment to the principles and practice outlined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

This is a full time, 37 hour per week role.
This post is temporary to cover the maternity leave of the substantive post-holder until 31st March 2025, or open the return of the post-holder, whichever is sooner.
