Location: Hybrid - Birmingham City Centre Head Office, Network Wide Coverage and Home Based.

Are you a sales focused individual that can identify revenue growth opportunities, along with being a dab hand at spinning multiple plates? Are you great with people, like forging new relationships and in its simplest form just love having a conversation?

Our Marketing and Sales Team are looking for a results driven Sales & Partnerships Manager to actively drive revenue growth, across both our B2B and Student focused travel products and also to provide support on maintaining and growing our Partnership Network.

We've got a big job to do, building on our green shoots of recovery and bringing back confidence in rail travel, especially within the business travel market. Our strong B2B travel product is waiting to be promoted, with customers to contact and targets to achieve. Students and Learning Establishments alike love our scholar focused travel product, but we need a new team member to get out and about across our network, attend events and raise the visibility of this product further.

You must love speaking with people, businesses, and stakeholder contacts, be able to see new revenue opportunities and develop partnerships allowing us to amplify our marketing campaigns and drive our travel product revenues. Successful candidates would benefit from experience in building sales pipelines, working to sales targets and managing multiple partnerships at any one time.

As Sales & Partnerships Manager you will:

  • Deliver our agreed Annual Business Plan revenue targets across West Midlands Trains Business Travel Product and the Student Travel Product.
  • Be responsible for identifying and driving new revenue opportunities and partnership connections with support from the Senior Sales and Partnerships Manager.
  • Have accountability for budget management and sales activity reporting, on a four-weekly basis.
  • Book and attend a calendar of business focused and student focused events, with the aim of making new connections and maintaining existing commercially focused relationships.
  • Be responsible for sharing sector insight and working closely with the West Midlands Trains Marketing Team to ensure relevant, data driven campaign marketing across both the Business Travel and Student Travel Products.
  • With Partnerships in mind, you will also be responsible for ensuring that West Midlands Trains is extending its marketing reach through all its paid for partnerships and collaborations.
  • Provide team support, as and when needed, reacting to both incoming customers along with internal enquiries, and working through to a positive solution.

Essential Skills Required:

  • A proactive and experienced sales professional (min 5 years' experience of working within a target driven sales environment).
  • A genuine people person who likes to engage, make new connections and can identify revenue gaps, along with having the ability to forge new commercially focused relationships to drive revenue results positively.
  • An organised team player with good attention to detail, sound Microsoft Office skills and comfortable with reporting and presenting sales results on a regular basis.

A personality that can work within a wider Marketing/Stakeholder team willing to share and collaborate and demonstrate a can-do attitude to getting the job done.

Holds a current driving license with access to a car, can work flexibly, attending events and meetings when needed.
