Farnell Farnell, an Avnet company, is a global high-service distributor of technology products, services and solutions for electronic system design, maintenance and repair. Job Summary As a key leader for the Farnell business, reporting to the Global Sales President, you will drive vision and purpose by providing leadership to the EMEA sales team with key focus on sales strategy, demand generation and customer engagement. As part of this responsibility, you will develop short term goals and long-term EMEA strategy, identify business trends, risks and opportunities, as well as develop and maintain ongoing relationships/partnerships with key customers. What you will do
  • Provides effective strategic direction and execution oversight in a geographically distributed environment to the EMEA sales team.
  • Ensures regional alignment to growth objectives and execution of agreed sales and margin plans
  • Identify, plan and implement sales initiatives with Avnet Core teams to leverage the power of one opportunities.
  • Builds, mentors, and leads a world-class sales organization with well-established goals and key performance metrics.
  • Work with ecommerce to ensure our digital proposition meets the needs of customer to transact and self-serve online
  • Builds customer relationships and drives growth of assigned customer base
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key customers; ensures business exceeds customer expectations and respond quickly to customer issues or feedback.
  • Attracts, engages, develops and retains top talent to inspire and promote an inclusive culture and ensure a strong diverse talent bench.
  • Identify, plan and implement joint sales initiatives with Avnet Core teams
  • Other duties as assigned.
What are we looking for
  • Proven ability to lead large sales organizations across EMEA, and execute through direct and indirect management.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers and leverage these relationships to attain business goals.
  • Gain deep understanding of the company's distribution business.
  • Provides strong leadership and effectively drive change.
  • Drive a continuous improvement mindset to identify efficiencies and implement solutions.
Experience
  • 12+ years of experience in large, matrixed organizations, including experience leading a distributed sales force, supplier development functions, and/or procurement operations.
  • Experience in electronics, distribution, supply chain management or other high-volume distribution

  • Able to build strong peer relationships through collaboration.

  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization to inspire diverse teams, and forge relationships with key customers.
  • Able to adapt his or her leadership skills to meet the changing demands of a situation.
